Pinktober is coming

We are one week and counting until the floodgates open on Pinktober. Get ready for a month of slick corporate profiteering, meaningless pink ribbon products and “awareness.”
For the last 12 years, Breast Cancer Action has challenged this ongoing pink distraction with our Think Before You Pink® campaign. Think Before You Pink depends on you, our members, who join us to demand accountability and transparency from corporations and charities engaged in pink ribbon marketing and promotions.

Start to educate your friends, family and community before Breast Cancer Industry Month is upon us:

  •  Follow us on Facebook and Twitter. We’ve got an exciting social media campaign planned—don’t miss it. If you already follow us on social media, help us expand our reach by inviting your communities to do so as well.
  • Attend or host a Pink Ribbons, Inc. film screening. BCAction members are holding screenings of this powerful documentary across the country. Pink Ribbons, Inc. shows just how much the shiny pink status quo has cost us—and how little we’ve gained from it.
  • Fundraise with our new “Don’t Pink For Me” campaign. We can put women’s health first because we are free from conflicts of interest. Tell your friends and family “Don’t Pink for Me” and ask them to make a donation to Breast Cancer Action in your honor instead.
  • Learn more about Breast Cancer Industry Month by attending our free Think Before You Pink webinar on October 8th or 9th.

Stay tuned for our 2014 Think Before You Pink campaign launching next week.

I saw the video documentary and was shocked to say the least. I would love to be able to bring awareness to this rip off and stop it in it’s tracks.
