What really gets to me are all of the football players who are decked out with all that pink crap when they play. You would think they would be wondering about raising funds for prostate cancer. I know breast cancer has probably touched a lot of their lives, but I think some of it is PC run a muck.
I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer 4 years ago. I also had colo rectal cancer 13 years ago.
I often wonder why the lack of awareness for that cancer. Like I said I think a lot of it is PC, JMHO

Thanks for sharing. I'm tired of all the pink junk out there too, with (some) proceeds going to a cancer that already gets more funding than any other cancer. Too bad I don't live in in the Bay area. Otherwise, I'd be there!

Nancee, we're so glad to have you here. We're a very small org staff-wise without any chapters, but we have members across the country in every state. Many BCAction members have hosted house parties to connect with other like-minded folks in their area, discuss ways to take action, and learn from one another. If you'd be interested Pin organizing a house party, that would be wonderful! please get in touch at info@bcaction.org.

Does your group ever sponsor events in the midwest and eastern states. Around here it's Susan B. Komen everything. I've heard of their tactics in the past, and I don't want to donate to a group that abuses our health rather than work toward prevention. PREVENTION is the keyword here, not cure. We wouldn't need a cure if it weren't for living in a chemical world!

I get really hot under the collar about these issues. My best friend and daughter's mother-in-law just had bilateral mastectomies with 25 lymph nodes removed, a Rotter's node removed, and tissue in the axillary area on one side. She had breast cancer in the left breast 18 years ago, and now 2 different kinds of breast cancer in the breasts. The subcutaneous tissue is involved, and who knows if the surgeon got whatever else is growing inside my friend. She must undergo very aggressive chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and post radiation therapy pill-form chemo. Sickens me!
