As we head into our 25th anniversary year at Breast Cancer Action and the 12th year of our Think Before You Pink® campaign, I’m excited to share our new strategic plan with you.
Over the next five years, this plan will guide Breast Cancer Action’s work as we educate, organize and take action for systemic change in three priority issue areas: breast cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment; the root causes of breast cancer; and pink ribbon marketing and culture.
In our new plan, you’ll recognize the vision of our founders to put women’s health before corporate profits, and you’ll see that our commitment to social justice remains the cornerstone of our work, which is now at the heart of our mission.
Our new mission is to achieve health justice for all women at risk of and living with breast cancer.
I am so grateful to the 1,500 of you who responded to our survey and requests for input as well as our Board of Directors, staff, members, funders, allies, and partners, who gave so generously of their time and insights to help create this strategic plan.
Thank you for being part of the 50,000-strong BCAction community that makes this organization a force to be reckoned with. Since our founding in 1990, we’ve remained a grassroots organization, and the involvement and support of individual members like you are at the heart of our success. Thank you.
